Sigma Homes launches £18m Merrywood development

West-Sussex based Sigma Homes has launched Merrywood – the housebuilder’s £18m development located in the Surrey village of Thames Ditton, just south west of London. Consisting of 26 apartments and houses, the prime 1.2-acre site, is located just off Weston Green. The first phase of Sigma Homes’ brownfield development site will be transformed into 12 three-bedroom semi-detached houses, which will be ready to move into from December 2023. The homes range from £1.1 to £1.15m, each offering 1,370 sq ft of accommodation, designed for the requirements of modern living. The collection of houses and apartments at Merrywood have been designed to include architectural references found in the surrounding towns and villages. Each home will benefit from an EV charging point and is being built to a high EPC-B rating. The internal accommodation for the three-bedroom homes has been designed across two and half floors and includes a dedicated study in addition to the bedrooms. There will be contemporary kitchens with Bosch appliances, fitted wardrobes to all bedrooms, and vinyl and carpeting provided as standard throughout. Geoff Potton, chief executive of Sigma Homes, said: “Thames Ditton is often described as the perfect suburban village, as it offers an idyllic riverside lifestyle. Due to the connectivity into central London, Thames Ditton is highly sought-after by commuters, while there is also a wide range of quality schooling for local families. The features that make living here so special are the array of picturesque buildings and traditional architecture, the outstanding parkland and riverside, and the thriving high street with cafes, boutique shopping and community facilities. “With energy prices at record levels, our Merrywood development will provide a much-needed boost to the village’s supply of new energy efficient homes. We are very pleased to be on track to deliver the first phase of 12 family houses before the end of this year. The company currently has five live developments in premium locations across the south of England and is on track to deliver 200 homes per annum by 2025.
